Lab inventory management software that orders before you run out
ClinikPe tracks every reagent, control, calibrator and consumable by lot number and expiry, tells you when stock reaches its reorder point, and lists what expires next so it gets used first. Purchases, suppliers and prices sit in the same place, for every branch.
- Stock by item, lot and branch, with first-expiry-first-out suggestions
- Reorder alerts based on how fast you actually use each item
- Lot records ready for NABL, without a separate logbook
Part of the ClinikPe Growth plan. Automatic test-wise deduction is now in early access.

What ClinikPe inventory does every day
Reagents are one of a lab's largest running costs, and they expire. The point of inventory software is to stop the two expensive surprises: a kit running out mid-shift, and a kit expiring at the back of the fridge.
Stock by item, lot and branch
Every receipt is recorded with lot number, quantity, expiry and price, so you know exactly what's on each shelf.
Expiry list and FEFO
Items expiring soon are listed first, with the oldest lot suggested for use.
Reorder alerts
Set a reorder level for each item and get alerted when stock falls below it.
Purchases and suppliers
Purchase records by supplier and price, so you can compare vendors and see what you spend.
All branches in one view
See which branch has spare stock before you order more. See multi-branch and franchise management.
Audit-ready records
Dated lot records support NABL assessments. See NABL lab software.
Six inventory habits of well-run labs
These work with any system. ClinikPe makes the first four automatic.
More detail in our reagent expiry management guide.
Set a reorder point for every item
Daily use multiplied by supplier lead time plus a safety buffer. Revisit it when volume changes, before the monsoon season rush, and when a supplier gets slower.
Use the earliest expiry first
First-expiry-first-out (FEFO) beats first-in-first-out for reagents. Keep newer lots behind older ones and label the open date on every bottle.
Watch open-vial stability, not just expiry
Once opened, many reagents last only weeks on board. For low-volume tests, buy smaller packs even if the per-test price is higher.
Log the cold chain
Record fridge temperatures (usually 2–8 °C) at least daily and act on excursions. A failed fridge can ruin a month's stock overnight.
Check new lots before use
Run controls on each new lot or shipment and record the result before patient samples. ISO 15189 calls this acceptance testing.
Count the expensive 20% weekly
A small number of items, usually immunoassay and HbA1c kits, make up most of your reagent spend. Count them often; count cheap consumables monthly.

Next: stock that moves with every test
Today, ClinikPe inventory tracks what you receive, issue and have left. With automatic reagent consumption, now in early access, every result also deducts its reagent from the open lot, including QC runs and repeats, and shows your real cost per test.
