Patient Data Is Sensitive. Your Software Must Treat It That Way.

In 2023, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) reported 13.91 lakh cybersecurity incidents involving Indian healthcare entities. Diagnostic labs hold highly sensitive patient data — diagnoses, medication history, chronic condition markers — that is far more valuable to bad actors than a credit card number. The software that manages this data must be built with security as a first principle.

ClinikPe was designed with Indian healthcare data regulations in mind from the start. Data stored in India, encrypted at rest and in transit, accessible only to authorised users with role-based controls, and every action logged with a tamper-proof audit trail. When a regulator, NABL assessor, or medico-legal inquiry asks 'who authorised this result and when?', ClinikPe has the answer.

ClinikPe Security Architecture

Every layer of ClinikPe's infrastructure designed to protect patient data — and the lab's reputation.

📊

AWS India Data Residency

All ClinikPe patient data is stored exclusively on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Mumbai region infrastructure. Data never leaves Indian jurisdiction. Aligned with DISHA data localization requirements for health records.

🔔

AES-256 Encryption at Rest

All patient records, test results, and documents stored in ClinikPe are encrypted using AES-256 — the same encryption standard used by Indian banks. Encryption keys managed separately from data.

💰

TLS 1.2+ Encryption in Transit

All data transmitted between ClinikPe's servers, the lab's browser/app, the patient portal, and the doctor portal is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher. No patient data travels unencrypted over any network.

🆓

Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)

Each user in ClinikPe — lab owner, pathologist, technician, front desk, doctor — has access strictly limited to what their role requires. A front desk user cannot authorise reports. A technician cannot modify billing. Misuse is structurally prevented.

📋

Tamper-Proof Audit Logs

Every clinical action in ClinikPe — report authorisation, result modification, patient record access, billing changes — is logged with timestamp, user ID, and device information. Logs are immutable and retained for 5 years.

🔌

Report Authorisation Controls

Only designated pathologists can authorise and digitally sign reports in ClinikPe. Unauthorised staff cannot release reports to patients. Digital signatures are linked to the pathologist's ClinikPe login credentials.

🗺️

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

ClinikPe supports MFA for lab owner and pathologist accounts — an OTP is required in addition to the password for high-privilege actions. Significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access even if credentials are compromised.

💹

Data Export & Portability

Labs can export their complete patient data at any time — patient records, test results, billing history — in CSV or PDF. No data lock-in. Data retained 2 years post-cancellation per Indian medical record requirements, then securely deleted.
